Sunset & Night Photowalk
October 20, 2018
I will be collaborating with Canon and leading Photowalks in NYC, the first of which will be at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Canon will be bringing their professional cameras and lenses for you to try out during the photowalk. We will be photographing the sunset over the Manhattan skyline as well as experimenting with night photography.
This will be a half day workshop that will teach the fundamentals of:
Cityscapes & Urban Architecture
Street Life & Photojournalism
Long Exposure & Motion
Sunset & Twilight
Professional landscape photographer guidance and location expertise
In the field instruction on mastering photography skills
Opportunity to try out Canon's newest gear
What should I expect?
We will be exploring Dumbo and will start just before sunset to review basic camera settings and then walk the pier to find the perfect sunset spot.
This photography walk is designed to give all participants the opportunity to shoot and capture beautiful cityscapes. We will guide you through different photography techniques, camera settings and how to use filters to properly expose your shots. We will also spend a good amount of time on photo composition and developing your own style so your photos will tell your story to the viewer.
What should I bring?
Upon signing up we will send everyone a detailed equipment and material list. The basic gear everyone should have is a digital SLR camera body, tripod and a variety of lens.
We will be doing some walking so it is advised for you to dress in layers and wear proper footwear.
Since this is a night photography workshop we recommend bringing a remote shutter release, a head lamp and any light painting tools.
We also recommend bringing a water and snack to stay hydrated and happy.
