From Headshots to Creative Portraits Using Nanlite

In this live, demo-driven session, Susan Magnano explores how to take control of light in any environment using portable LED tools. Rather than relying on perfect conditions, she’ll build light from scratch—transforming ordinary scenes into compelling images in real time.

Using the Nanlite PavoSlim LED Panel along with an evolving set of Nanlite lighting tools, Susan will demonstrate how to shape direction, balance ambient light, and create natural or stylized looks on demand. This session embraces experimentation, showing how small shifts in placement, movement, and intention can dramatically change an image.

Attendees are invited to participate as subjects or collaborators, turning the session into a live portrait experience where light is designed, not just discussed.

This is not about memorizing settings—it’s about learning to see, shape, and create light with intention.
